External Data
An external data file is a requirement for the import and export specification. You MUST CREATE the external data file and ADD it into the IntelliTrack Import/Export Utility as external data. The external data file contains the data fields as specified in the import/export specification.
- External Data for Import Specification: The data source file from which data will be imported into IntelliTrack. The external data file MUST CONTAIN the data fields in the specification. The field order in it MUST MATCH the field order in the specification. The external data file may be a tab delimited (.txt) or a comma delimited (.csv) file.
- External Data for Export Specification: The destination file for the IntelliTrack data that will be exported from IntelliTrack. The external data file IS EMPTY until the export is performed. The external data file may be a tab delimited (.txt) or a comma delimited (.csv) file.
Note: An external data file may only be used by one specification at a time. If an external data file is being used by a specification it will not be available for another specification.
